Teatro Litta

Teatro Litta is the oldest theatre in activity in Milan, even older than Teatro alla Scala. It is situated in the city centre of Milan inside an historical XVII century Palace and it is one of the most popular theatre that works on innovative theatre and new plays.

Teatro Litta, recognised by the main Institutions in Italy, is radically based on the territory where it works producing its own shows and touring them all around Italy.
Together with production activities, Teatro Litta hosts Italian artists and companies in residence, shows that concern with its mission.

Artistic direction is particularly interested on new theatre generations, young artists and directors, being really keen on discovering new artists.
For this proposal ten years ago, artistic direction decided to realize the project Work in Progress, dedicated to a young director in residence for three years (under 30). Since then, three very different directors has joined the project proving very different talents and theatre skills. At the present, all of them work with success as directors.
According to this attention on young generations, in 2005 Teatro Litta promoted the first edition of Connections .
